Accredited and Ready: Helsingin Kielilukio Joins the Erasmus+ Community
Exciting things are happening at Helsingin Kielilukio! On December 4, 2024, we got some fantastic news—we have been awarded Erasmus+ accreditation! Starting on February 1, 2025, and lasting for three years, this means we are officially part of a program that connects schools across Europe.
What Does This Mean for Our Students and Staff?
It is our chance to explore new countries, meet people from different cultures, and learn in ways we cannot get from a textbook. Whether it is through student mobilities, learning from teachers who have trained abroad, or taking part in international projects, Erasmus+ will bring new adventures and opportunities right to our doorstep.
Our Goals with Erasmus+
Through Erasmus+, we have committed to making Helsingin Kielilukio even better for every student. Here are the main objectives guiding our plans:
1. Promoting Inclusion and Diversity
a. We are focusing on better language support and teaching methods that celebrate diversity and make everyone feel included. This means ensuring that all students, no matter their background, can thrive.
2. Advancing Digital Skills and Technology Integration
a. Technology is part of our everyday lives, and Erasmus+ will help us integrate digital tools into learning in ways that make studying more fun, interactive, and future-ready.
3. Enhancing Student Wellbeing
a. Wellbeing is a priority. Through mobility programs and improved teaching practices, we are focusing on creating a supportive and positive environment where we can feel our best.
4. Developing Our Curriculum
a. Erasmus+ will give us fresh ideas to make our learning experience even more exciting, with lessons that prepare us for the future in innovative ways.
What’s Coming in 2025?
Here is what we can look forward to during the first year of Erasmus+ at Helsingin Kielilukio:
Student Mobilities
· We are planning 10 mobilities abroad with groups of 8-15 students. Imagine immersing onself in another culture, practicing language skills, and making friends from across Europe.
Teacher Training & Job Shadowing
· The teachers will be learning too! They will attend training courses and job shadowing periods abroad, bringing back fresh ideas—like interactive teaching methods or new activities for language learning—to make lessons even more engaging.
Technology and Collaboration
· Erasmus+ projects will help us develop the skills to use and integrate new technology and tools into our education. These experiences will make learning more innovative, interactive, and better suited for the digital age.
